1.     Find out which sessions players enjoy and are easy to manage

Dedicating time and effort into planning training sessions is key if you want successful outcomes, says Newcastle United first-team development coach, Ben Dawson.

“One thing that I've learned is the amount of detail required both in the planning and in the delivery aspects of a coaching session,” says Dawson. “If you don't know your subject inside and out the very best players - regardless of age - will challenge you on it and you've got to be ready for it.

The flow of your session is also so important. So, what's the flow going to be like from practice to practice?  When you've done so many practices you start to know which ones work and you know which ones the players really enjoy and are easy to manage and to set-up.”
