Learning:

-  Using a ‘pocket planner’ to ensure your coaching session stay focused on key objectives

-       Maximising coaching time whilst out on the training field

-       How to provide clarity for each member of staff involved in a coaching session

Using a ‘pocket planner’ can help coaches remain focused on key objectives and priorities on the training pitch, says Aston Villa’s Head of Coach Development, Ryan Maye.

“Even if you've planned a session diligently and spoken with the other coaches about roles and responsibilities, coaches can still get caught up in the flow of sessions,” says Maye, who joined Aston Villa from West Brom in 2019. “As coaches we tend to go with the flow just like players do - because we're humans and we get caught up in the action.”
