Learning:

-     Designing a coaching syllabus that helps develop the whole player

-       How to combine both technical/tactical objectives with social objectives

-       The importance of understanding each individual and the complexity of learning

The game maybe simple, but learning it is complex. The truth about working with young players is that it is complicated and unpredictable. The craft of coaching is subtle and multifaceted. It depends on what work is being undertaken, the age and ability of the players, the size and mood of the group, the culture of the academy and club, the personality of the coach and most importantly the purpose and aims of the syllabus.
