Leinster Rugby Head Coach, Stuart Lancaster, believes his most effective coaching position is on the pitch amongst the players, so they can feel his ‘energy and enthusiasm’ for the session.
“I feel like I should be on the pitch with the players and emotionally connected to the training session,” explains Lancaster, who joined the Dublin side in 2016 after four years as England’s head coach.
“I want to be on the pitch with them so they can feel my energy and enthusiasm for training. Come rain, wind, or shine, I’m out there saying ‘come on boys, it’s going to be a great day, let’s go’ - I do it to generate the enthusiasm.”
