Coach developers working in academy football should ‘start with the end in mind’ when supporting coaches with their learning, says Dr.Andy Abraham, head of Sports Coaching at Leeds Beckett university.

“The first thing coach developers working in the academy system have to have, is a sense of what is it you're trying to develop?” says Abraham, who has lectured in Sports Coaching at Leeds Beckett for 25 years. “My colleagues talk about 'starting with the end in mind' which links to having some level of clarity about what it is you're trying to work towards.
