Coaches can adopt similar coaching principles regardless of the age or level of player they are working with, believes Keith Davids, Professor of skill acquisition at Sheffield Hallam University.
Davids admits that some small ‘adjustments’ may need to be made between ‘performance’ and ‘development’ levels of the game, however, the overarching ideas of learning, problem-solving, decision-making and setting individual player challenges can stay the same.
