In the modern game there are quite a few different incarnations of the centre forward but there is one constant: the best centre forwards are predators.
They are highly single-minded individuals on the pitch and completely ruthless in and around the opposition’s penalty area. This is where they come alive. They are ego centric, looking to seize the moment. Being natural risk takers, they rarely play safe and are unrelenting, opportunistic, and merciless.
